Because of this, all the members of our team play a critical role in delivering you the best experience possible. From being greeted by Yamina, our practice administrator or as we like to call her our smile administrator! Dr. Kennedy and his expert clinical team bring you years of experience that will have you feeling taken care of from start to finish.
Yamina Hall is our expert on insurance benefits, coordination of benefits, payment plans, treatment needs, and scheduling. She prides herself on staying on the cutting edge of our profession. Not only is Yamina excited about what she does here at Kennedy Dental, but she also has high standards for quality and integrity. She is motivated to achieve the best results for our family of patients
She moved to Aloha, Oregon, from Chicago back in 1991. Since beginning her dental career in 1997, Yamina has continuously volunteered with Give Kids a Smile, Medical Teams International (formerly known as NW Medical Teams), and Compassion North Portland. Her continual goal is for increasing personal growth.
Jessica Saylor has been Dr. Kennedy’s left hand and main assistant for more than 10 years now. Being a part of the Kennedy Dental team this long has allowed her to really get to know her patients and their individual needs, while developing these relationships. She enjoys the St. Johns community so much that became a part of it in 2008 when she moved to the neighborhood.
Graduating from the Northwest Dental Institute in 2000 with top honors, Jessica has trained and worked in many specialty offices, such as Oral Surgery, Endodontic, and Periodontic. This has given her advanced skills and knowledge of the broad scope of patients dental needs. These skills are fully utilized with Dr. Kennedy and his quality dentistry. Jessica’s confidence and her unique skills allow her to provide outstanding quality and compassionate dental care.
Jessica’s passion when she’s not working is exploring Oregon: hiking in the gorge, wine tasting at the coast, trying new restaurants in Portland, and kayaking in central Oregon.
A desire to learn the latest advancements in dental care and technology are what first attracted Shirley Ybarra to Kennedy Dental. A native of North Portland, she received her dental education at Carrington College and Portland Community College, and then began a dental career over 10 years ago as a dental assistant as a dental assistant for Dr Jess Blankenship, Dr. Kennedy’s dental partner for over 20 years until his retirement in 2012. Shirley was attracted to dentistry for the opportunity to truly help people and create beautiful, healthy smiles. As a hygienist, she attends a variety of continuing education courses that keeps her job interesting and exciting.
Because she loves what she does, and she brings her gentle nature to work each day, she is a favorite with Kennedy Dental patients.
Shirley is a volunteer for Give Kids a Smile and Oregon Mission of Mercy. She also enjoys spending time with her husband, traveling, camping, driving to car shows in her 1923 Ford roadster, and taking long walks with her two Chihuahuas.
A member of the Kennedy team since June 2013, Mary Foote has always been fascinated by science, specifically with focuses on health and relationships. Every day, she finds her career as a dental hygienist to be interesting and rewarding, because of the wide range of opportunities where she can help individuals improve their health. With 18 years of dental hygiene experience, Mary can honestly say she has never worked the same day twice.
Apart from dentistry, Mary finds elementary education and hunger relief projects to be rewarding and motivating. She volunteers with an English as a second language program. The common thread in her passions is seeing lives improve regardless of the surroundings.
Mary and her husband, Mike, have raised three kids together, and their family currently has three pets: one dog that goes everywhere, one cat in the inside, and one cat on the outside. They fill their spare time with easy hikes, long walks with the dog, and fishing—activities they do year round come rain, snow, or sunshine.
